About the programme
This academic program prepares specialists in the scholarly study of Oriental manuscripts and Arabic historical, religious, philosophical, and literary sources. Students gain in-depth knowledge of Classical Arabic, paleography, codicology, textual criticism, source studies, and methodologies for working with historical documents.
Throughout the program, students acquire practical experience in reading rare manuscripts, preparing scholarly descriptions, producing transliterations, establishing critical editions of texts, and introducing historical sources into academic research. The program offers a unique opportunity for students interested in the civilizations of the East and the intellectual and cultural heritage of the Islamic world.
Graduates are well prepared for careers in research institutes, archives, libraries, museums, universities, and international academic and research centers.
